Soman

Listen & Buy

Kolja Trelle aka SOMAN is by far one of Germany’s hottest exports in industrial dance music. Starting off as sound engineer with Absurd Minds, Hocico and Terminal Choice, as well as remixing songs by VNV Nation, Red Sand and Tom Wax, Kolja Trelle entered the scene as Soman with the album Sound Pressure in 2003. With his own music he created a strong fusion of modern industrial beats and rhythms combined with the influence of warm melodic trance sounds. Featuring the club hit “Divine,” Sound Pressure quickly began storming DJ playlists worldwide.

Soman gained a further following after he released the six track EP Unleash, which went straight to number 1 on the German Alternative Charts. Straight afterwards he went on a 60+ date world tour supporting VNV NATION on their "Matter & Form" Tour where Kolja served not only as an opening act, but also as a live keyboard player for VNV Nation. After a very brief rest, Soman returned with the full length album Mask, and once again claimed control of the dance floors with another barrage of unstoppable club anthems, full of riveting beats, ear splitting industrial mayhem, and a full-on massive sound. Club hits such as “Pan Tau,” “Revenge,” “Traitor,” “Delta-Pi,” and “Ruler” are steady part of DJ playlists all over the globe, not to mention SOMAN’s remixes for the likes of Tom Wax, Hocico, Icon of Coil, Combichrist, SITD and more.

As a producer and engineer Kolja Trelle also worked for various bands (such as Cephalgy, Grendel, Splendid Isolation, E-Craft, and Hocico) in mixing their records and giving them the final touch in mastering and production with his own production company Koltron Music.

In 2009, Metropolis re-released Soman’s debut album. With Sound Pressure 2.0, Soman delivered an album of uncompromising sound structures, mixing Noise, Electro, Industrial and Techno to a devastating effect. The with tracks such as “Divine,” “Pan Tau,” “Fly” and “Innocence” already club favorites, this special reissue featured two bonus tracks making it a milestone of Techno Body Industrial that couldn’t be missed!

Soman now returns in 2010 with the new album Noistyle and once again delivers an album that expands the boundaries of Soman’s beat driven repertoire.
